The Cistude d’Europe is a wild species of freshwater turtle, naturally found in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. In some territories, populations have also come from reintroduction programmes.
As part of a mission entrusted by DREAL to merge and update, at the level of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the declination of the national action plan dedicated to this protected and threatened species, the conservatories of natural areas of Allier and Savoie compiled in 2017 the data of occurrence of this species in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, made available to them.
The data available for download correspond to the range defined in early 2018 of wild and re-introduced populations, in view of the sources mobilised (detailed in the document entitled “Action plan for the Cistude d’Europe en Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes — Addendum 2018-2020”).
