A marine natural park is one of the protected natural areas (ENPs) which are designated or managed in an international, Community, national or local framework with a view to achieving specific objectives for the conservation of natural heritage. The aim of marine natural parks, like regional natural parks, is to reconcile the protection and sustainable development of vast maritime areas with remarkable natural heritage. They are classified as IUCN V or VI (depending on the regulations and management objectives established).Legal References: Articles L334-3 to L334-8 and R.334-27 to R.334-38 of the Environmental Code.
