By avoiding increasing the stakes in risk areas and reducing the vulnerability of already urbanised areas, the control of spatial planning helps to reduce damage during natural disasters or industrial accidents. Risk prevention plans are the key instrument of the State for risk prevention. Their objective is to control development in areas at risk. The origin layer of the risk represents the enclosure of the facility(s) classified for the protection of the environment (ICPE) at the origin of the risk analysed and treated by the PPRT.
