A site characterisation study was conducted by the Shom on the Dunkirk EMR study area in 2016 and 2017. In the context of the “sedimentology” part of this study, different data were produced: distribution of sedimentary structures and slopes, nature of bottoms, sediment thickness.
The Dunkirk Sedimentology Component V2.0 report of 15 November 2017 provides an analysis of the results from the exploitation of sedimentological data collected as part of the environmental recognition study of the Dunkirk EMR study area.
— Map of the nature of the funds: sediment distribution map based on data acquired at sea
— Sediment thickness map: minimum sediment thickness map based on THR seismic data acquired during the 2016 and 2017 surveys (Echoes 10000 and Echoes 3500)
— Distribution map of sedimentary structures: dune location map, bench distribution map, distribution map of the 3 megarid classes,
— Map of slopes

Horizontal references: WGS84 assimilated to the RGF93 geodetic system (65 cm difference between the two systems, taken into account in the theoretical error balance); projection Lambert93
Vertical references: ZH in Dunkirk for probes, the vertical reference of altitudes is the zero of the 1969 NGF-IGN system.
