The European Nitrates Directive calls on Member States to implement action programmes to regulate the use of fertilisers in agriculture.The objective pursued and to restore the quality of groundwater and surface water bodies there are degraded on the nitrate parameter.For the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region of 19 July 2018.
Within these vulnerable areas, farmers are subject to several measures laid down by ministerial decree serving as a national action programme and reinforced by Order No 2018-248 establishing regional action programmes for the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates of agricultural origin for the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region of 19 July 2018.
This action order reinforces pursuant to Article R 211-81-1 of the Environmental Code, which correspond to the pavement areas of water drawn for human consumption and the spleen content is greater than 50 mg per litre (determined on the basis of the 90 percentil of the years 2015 and 2016 at least using a longer chronic if available).
The boundaries of these areas correspond according to the situation:
— catchment feeding areas (ACAs) when defined;
—in the absence of AAFC, to protection areas where they exist;
—in the absence of a protection area, the area of the municipalities is the seat of the catchments.
In the absence of AAFC, these perimeters may eventually be extended to a hydrogeological study.
Within these areas some measures of the nitrate and regional nitrate action programmes are reinforced.
