Mapping of sets of landscapes in Brittany carried out by L. Le Du-Blayo (Université Rennes 2, UMR CNRS 6590 ESO “Espaces et Societies”) Emilie Bourget and Isabelle Ganzetti based on field studies, the typology of landscapes, the synthesis of landscape units and regional consultation. The map of sets of landscapes in Brittany was carried out as part of a research programme between the UMR ESO and the Regional Council of Brittany in order to carry out a scientific reflection on the mapping of landscapes at different scales and a decision support in the framework of the harmonisation of the departmental policies of Atlas du Paysage. The objective is to propose a regional reading (1/250 000th) of landscape identities, to offer a landscape data that can be used in the framework of sectoral environmental and planning policies at regional level, to promote interdepartmental concordance in the implementation of landscape units (at 100 000th). This map of sets as well as the names of the sets was validated by the actors during the Regional Landscape Committee of 15 June 2011, chaired by the representatives of the DREAL and the Regional Council of Brittany.
