The mapping of Guadeloupean plant formations identifies and localises the natural or semi-natural areas of the archipelago (except Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin and Petite-Terre). 17 types of natural environments have been identified, 11 of which meet the international definition of forest.
Two additional information is available for each identified polygon: the presence of bamboo and whether the polygon was a banana plantation in 2010.
This mapping was carried out as part of the Guadeloupe Forest Diagnosis led by the General Council.
