The purpose of hunting and wildlife reserves is the protection of migratory birds and endangered species and the development of tools for the management of wildlife and their habitats. Hunting and wildlife reserves shall be established, in accordance with their interest, by the prefect (Article R 422-82 EC) or by the Minister responsible for hunting (national reserves Article R422-92 EC).The hunting and wildlife reserves established by prefectural decree shall be established at the request of the holder of the right to hunt and prohibit any hunting act. They play an important role in preserving wildlife and, in particular, species that can be hunted.
