Embankments are deposits of decay land and inert waste (demolition and construction waste) in the
wetlands defined according to the Isère Wetlands Inventory. The built embankment parts were not
included in this inventory.
Removal of embankments in wetlands is shown by DDT38 as one of the measures
flagship compensations related to wetland destruction. To this end, DDT commissioned AVENIR in 2011 to carry out an inventory to determine the location, surface and nature of existing wetland embankments. The prospected territories were Gresivaudan and part of the Chartreuse — Guiers.
Results
Prospecting to identify and map 202 embankments covering a total area of 141.9 ha of wetlands.
For a good understanding of cartographic data, it is necessary to refer to the inventory methodology established by AVENIR in December 2011 and the associated tables.
