Dataset description
A forest in natural evolution is made up of spontaneous (even young) forests. This forest has not been forested or cut for decades and represents a type of native forest habitat. Forests of at least 1 ha have been retained.
Optionally, the forest has senescent trees, dead wood on the ground or standing.
The inventory was concentrated on forests already enjoying protection status and on the other hand in forest areas located in difficult areas of exploitation (strong slopes).
The inventory was carried out in 2010 by the regional forest, wood and energy department of the Rhône-Alpes Regional Directorate for Food, Agriculture and Forest.
