Since 22 October 2010, France has had a new seismic zoning dividing the national territory into five zones of increasing seismicity (Articles R.563-1 to R.563-8 of the Environmental Code, as amended by Decree No 2010-1254 of 22 October 2010, and Article D.563-8-1 of the Environmental Code, created by Decree No 2010-1255 of 22 October 2010):
— an area of seismicity 1 (very small) where there is no specific seismic requirement for ‘normal risk’ works,
— four seismicity zones 2 to 5 (2=low, 3=moderate, 4=average, 5=strength), where seismic construction rules apply to “normal risk” buildings and bridges.
The Saône et Loire is concerned only by levels by levels 1 to 3. This layer defined for each common its classification.
