Service WFS — In 2018, 78.3 Mm3 of drinking water was distributed throughout Guadeloupe. Of this total volume, only 39 % of the water (30.5 Mm3) was consumed by the population. Several factors can explain this difference between the volume put into distribution and the volume actually consumed:
— the existence of numerous leaks on drinking water distribution systems;
— the age of certain meters that underestimate or no longer count volumes;
— the existence of clandestine piquing on the network.
The average loss rate for Guadeloupe is 61 % in 2018.
