Storm Xynthia of February 2010 recalled the violence of the phenomena that could occur on the coast. Since 2006, the state services of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region have been working to better understand these risks through an ambitious curriculum. While most of these studies have been completed, this knowledge now gives rise to information, prevention and protection measures, while preparing for the management of a possible crisis.
