Dataset description
Ce jeu de données représente les frontières des principaux océans et mers du monde. La source des limites est la publication "Limits of Oceans & Seas, publication spéciale n ° 23" publiée par l'OHI en 1953. Le jeu de données a été réalisé par le Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ).
NB: L'océan Austral n'est pas inclus dans la publication de l'OHI et ses limites font l'objet de discussions au sein de la communauté scientifique. Le Flanders Marine Institute a reconnu la controverse autour de ce sujet, mais a décidé d'inclure l'océan Austral dans le jeu de données, ce terme étant souvent utilisé par les scientifiques travaillant dans ce domaine.
