Ya d’ar brezhoneg (in Breton Yes to the Breton language) is a campaign led by the Office Public de la langue Breton to promote and develop the use of the Breton language in the daily life of the inhabitants of historic Brittany, in the community, professional or local authorities.
Municipalities signatory to the Ya d’ar Brezhoneg charter of local authorities must fulfil a contract of objectives chosen from a list of forty actions. One of them is the name of the bilingual Breton-French lanes, designed to set up street signs throughout the territory.
