This dataset contains the location of the Industrial Emissions Directive (ICPE) in New Aquitaine.
The FDI Directive regulates the most polluting industries in the European Union (EU). “In order to better identify the installations concerned,” explains the Ministry, Decree No. 2013-375 creates forty new headings in the nomenclature of installations classified for the protection of the environment (ICPE), established in Article R. 511-9 of the Environmental Code. All the activities listed in Annex I to the Directive are thus classified under the headings ‘3000’.
These activities include certain fuel combustion activities (heading 3110), oil and gas refining activities (heading 3120), processing of ferrous metals (heading 3230), manufacturing in industrial quantities by chemical or biological processing of organic chemicals (heading 3410), disposal or recovery of waste in waste incineration plants or co-incineration plants (heading 3520), or intensive rearing of poultry or pigs according to certain thresholds (3660).
However, all the activities covered by the new headings remain included in the existing conventional headings of the nomenclature, the Ministry explains. “The headings”3000“are simply an indicator of belonging to the scope of Annex I of the FDI Directive,” he adds. For example, an intensive poultry farming facility retains its original classification under heading 2111, but it is also classified under heading 3660 for installations subject to the FDI Directive.
