All the works carried out by the French Guiana Coast Dynamic Observatory. More specifically, the areas of Cayenne Island, Kourou, Awala-Yalimapo and from 2018, Macouria, are followed. Further work is being carried out on the entire coastline of Guyana.
Key data for ODyC include:
— the coastline, which is defined as the boundary between the top of the beach and the backbeam. This limit can be materialised by: the foot of the microfalaise if an erosion front is present; the foot of the layout if a work is present; the vegetation limit and/or the sea lead limit;
— topo-bathymetric profiles, which make it possible to estimate sediment losses along identified profiles, both at sea and on the beach;
— NTMs that follow the volume evolution of a coastal surface;
Orthophotographs that are taken as part of NCD surveys;
— the various maritime limits;
—...
The expected acquisition frequency of the Coast Dynamic Observatory is bi-annual, around April (wet season) and October (dry season). In addition, other types of data acquired on an ad hoc basis by different agencies.
Updates are scheduled at least annually.
