Dataset description
Since 1984, the Department of Savoie has developed a specific tool, the PDIPR (Departemental Plan of Promenades and Hiking Routes), to manage hiking routes.
This plan brings together the structuring itineraries of the Savoie hiking offer and aims to develop the discovery of landscapes and natural sites through the practice of hiking, while preserving rural paths.
In October 2016, the Department decided to revise its PDIPR to better take into account changing practices and thus re-assess the value of certain trails. The current plan thus has 6.450 km of trails spread throughout the territory.
