An urban area is a group of municipalities, of a single enclave, consisting of an urban pole (urban unit) with more than 10,000 jobs, and by rural municipalities or urban units (peri-urban crown) of which at least 40 % of the resident population in employment works in the pole or in municipalities attracted by it.
