Dataset description
The permanent base of equipment (BPE) is a statistical base. It lists a wide range of equipment and services, whether merchant or not, accessible to the public throughout France on January 1st of each year.
It covers more than 180 different types of services and equipment, divided into seven main areas: services to individuals, businesses, education, health-social, transport-travel, sports-leisure-culture and tourism.
The BPE is built from various administrative sources. It collects data on points of access to services for the population, or “equipment”, located at geographical levels. municipalities, sub-communal territories (Iris) and coordinates (x,y) for most types of equipment.
Thanks to the fine knowledge of the territories it allows, the BPE is a tool to assist the privileged decision. In particular, it makes it possible to study the structure of the offer of services in a territory:volume of equipment, presence or absence, concentration or dispersion, identification of service poles or territories without services, calculation of distances between equipped and unequipped municipalities, calculation of equipment rates by linking equipment to potential users, building baskets of equipment on a particular theme, etc.
Note/treatments have been carried out on this data in order to make it quickly ineligible, in accordance with the document “list of types of equipment -insee.fr” associated with the metadata.
Three fields have been added by KaruGéo:
— EQU_TXT (equivalent to equipment wording) example A101 = Police,
— Domain (equivalent to equipment domain) example A = Services to individuals,
— Ss_domain (equivalent to equipment subdomain) example A1 = utilities
