The Risk Prevention Plan Floods of the Loire downstream in the Nantes agglomeration concerns ten municipalities: Bouguenais, Couëron, Indre, La Montagne, Le Pellerin, Nantes, Rezé, Saint-Herblain, Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau and Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire.
Nantes Métropole and the municipalities concerned by the PPRI were involved in its development, led by the Direction Départementale des Territoires et de la Mer de la Loire-Atlantique (DDTM 44), an instructor service of the PPRi under the aegis of the Prefect.
The RPRI is a regulatory document designed to improve the safety of people and property from flood risk. As a priority, it aims not to increase risks and to reduce vulnerability in the perimeters it covers, both from the point of view of future urbanisation and the construction and use of the territory.
