As part of the monitoring set up to combat the golden flavescence of the vine, two types of zoning within which special provisions apply are laid down by decree of the Prefect of the Region: The free zone and the demarcated area.
1) The exempte:zone of vineyards where golden flavescence is declared absent, depending on the monitoring carried out in accordance with the procedures specified by the Ministry responsible for agriculture
(2) The demarcated area shall comprise an infested zone and a buffer zone defined as follows:
— The infested area:
It shall consist of the parcel or parcels of vines with at least one cep infested by golden flavescence or uncultivated vines infested, following a positive official test result.
— The buffer zone:
With a minimum radius of 500 metres measured beyond the limits of the infested zone, it may be extended to municipalities or parts thereof within that radius and to municipalities or parts thereof which may be infested on the basis of a phytosanitary risk assessment.
