Cette couche représente le découpage du littoral métropolitain en provinces sédimentaires définies dans le cadre du projet "Dynamiques et évolution du littoral : synthèse des connaissances des côtes françaises". En métropole, le littoral est découpé en 10 provinces sédimentaires. 8 autres provinces ont été définies sur les territoires ultramarins. Elles constituent l’échelle de restitution des documents de synthèse locaux.
