Pseudo-colour images of the seabed of the reef areas of Mayotte (2009-2010) — CARMAY Project

These images of the seabed come from the correction of the water column on hyperspectral data acquired in 2009 and 2010 for the Litto3D Indian Ocean project (IGN/SHOM) and with funding from the Agency for Marine Protected Areas (AAMP). The calculation methods are based on developments initiated within the framework of the quadripartite cooperation agreement on the “Reef Artography of the French Islands of the Indian Ocean to Part of Hyperspectral Data” between the Prefecture of Réunion, the French Southern and Antarctic Lands, the AAMP and Ifremer. The treatment of these images in 2018 as part of the CARMAY project (Mayotte reef mapping) generated a coloured composition Red/Green/Bleu as it would be after theoretical removal of the water column. These images were then used as baseline data for the CARMAYOTTE project (Cartography of reef habitats of Mayotte, funding PNMM/AFB/CUFR/IFRECOR 2019-2020). The CARMAY project is funded by the Marin Natural Park of Mayotte/AFB and Ifremer (for remote sensing).
