Dataset description

The data is the shape of the Regional Pedological Reference of Haute-Normandie (RRP HN). These are the Sol Cartographic Units (UCS), representing the pedo-landscapes of the former Haute-Normandie region. UCS are composed of soil types distributed in space in an organised way, according to homogenous factors of pedogenesis (morphology, climate, lithology and sometimes soil occupation). The Sol Typological Units (UTS) correspond to a portion of this soil cover represented by the UCS and each UCS may consist of one or more UTS. In the shape of the RRP HN, for each UCS, the three majority UTS are entered, including their name and number as well as their proportion in the UCS. The color_ucs field allows the display of colors in a GIS software, as they appear on the floor map in A0 format. For the sake of simplified display on GeoNormandie, 2 other fields are present in the winning table: for each polygon, corresponding to a specific UCS, the dominant UTS is attached to a large soil type “GER”, in the form of code in the chams “GER_vf”. The large type of soil dominant in each UCS gives its color associated with the corresponding polygon. For optimal use of the attribute data present in the download form, the default encoding to be used is UTF-8. Two associated resources: — The explanatory note to RRP HN, in two parts. The first part details the method applied to the creation of the HN RRP, from the initial bibliography phase to the finalisation of the HN RRP, through the field phase, graphic construction and the creation of point and surface data. The second part describes the former high-Norman region and the soil characteristics of the small natural regions that make up it, it is directly related to the soil map. — The soil map at 1/250,000. This is the representation of the shape of the RRP HN, reflecting the spatial distribution of soil types present in the small natural regions of the former Haute-Normandie region. — QGIS style file version 2.8 and + (.qml) to apply graphic semantics as on the floor map to 1/250000.
