Representation of the seabed reliefs of the mangrove areas of Europa — Project Piot

This representation of the reliefs of the backgrounds comes from the combination of the Bathymetric MNT of the mangroves of the island of Europa, resulting from the processing of hyperspectral data with an extrapolation of slopes (grey levels) to the scale of the image resolution. It generates a layer of information revealing many details of the geomorphology of reefs. Hyperspectral images acquired in 2009 for the Litto3D Indian Ocean project (IGN/SHOM) and with funding from the Agency of Marine Protected Areas (AAMP). The calculation methods are based on developments initiated within the framework of the quadripartite cooperation agreement on the “Reef Artography of the French Islands of the Indian Ocean to Part of Hyperspectral Data” between the Prefecture of Réunion, the French Southern and Antarctic Lands (Taaf), the AAMP and Ifremer. The Piot project is co-financed by the Iles Éparses Consortium2017-2020, Ifremer (carrier) and its partners (CNRS-LIRMM, Kelonia and CEDTM).
