The E.N.S. or Sensitive Natural Area was — in France — established by Law 76.1285 of 31 December 1976 and then case-law specified by the Court of Besançon as ‘the natural character of which is threatened and made vulnerable, currently or potentially, either because of urban pressure or the development of economic or leisure activities, or because of a particular interest in the quality of the site or the characteristics of the plant or animal species present there’. SNEs are the core of the environmental policies of the general councils. They generally contribute to the National Green and Blue Trame, which declines the pan-European ecological network in France, following the Grenelle de l’Environnement and in particular within the framework of the SRCE which the State and the Regional Councils are to set up in 2011, with their departmental partners in particular.Sworn guards and therefore able to draw up minutes are responsible for monitoring and managing these spaces, with an educational and mediation role and public awareness.\\nSource: Wikipedia
