Dataset description

The regulation on noise classification of inland transport infrastructure derives from Article 13 of Law No 92-1444 of 31 December 1992 on noise control. These regulations are now codified in the Environmental Code in articles L571-10, R125-28 and R571-32 to R571-43. In each department, the Prefect identifies and classifies land transport infrastructure according to its noise and traffic characteristics. On the basis of this classification, it shall determine, after consulting the municipalities, the sectors affected by noise, the levels of noise to be taken into account for the construction of buildings and the technical requirements likely to reduce them. This map is a graphic annex to the Prefectural Decree of 14 August 2020 concerning the sound classification of the LGV line on its part crossing the Ille-et-Vilaine. It was prepared by the DDTM on the basis of the study report provided by SNCF Réseau in May 2019. Based on traffic projections by 2037, the LGV is classified in 2nd category (250 m). In this 250 m area of employment, residential buildings, educational, health, care and social welfare establishments, as well as hotels and accommodation establishments of a tourist nature, to be built in the areas affected by the noise mentioned, must have a minimum acoustic isolation against noise from outside space. This map will be integrated (by means of an update procedure) into the planning documents (PLU, PLUi) of the 9 municipalities crossed by the LGV.
