Areas which can be covered by alpine skiing (and similar practices) by gravity from the top of the ski lifts to the bottom of the ski lifts even in the absence of slopes. They may contain areas unsuitable for alpine skiing.
Note: two ski areas connected by a ski lift are part of the same ski area.
This definition is purely technical. It differs from the definition given in Article R.145-4 of the Urbanism Code, which applies specifically to the provisions relating to New Tourist Units.
