This dataset contains the perimeter of the Rapid Submersions Plans (PSR) of the Aquitaine region.
The Rapid Submersions Plan (PSR) is a national and inter-departmental plan validated on 17 February 2011, following flooding by storm Xynthia on 28 February 2010, followed by sudden floods in the Draguignan area of Var on 15 June 2010. It covers the risk of flooding by marine submersions, sudden floods or localised runoff and breaks of dikes.
This plan for rapid submersions is an emergency system designed to increase the safety of the population in the areas of danger mentioned. Its objective is to encourage the different territories to develop and implement prevention projects in order to guarantee as a matter of priority the safety of people vis-à-vis these hazards, by means of a pragmatic approach, also integrating specific projects but in coherent areas, risk basins.
The PSR is divided into four axes:
— control of urbanisation and adaptation of the existing building;
— improved knowledge of hazards and surveillance or forecasting, vigilance and alert systems;
— reliability of structures and protection systems;
— improving the resilience of populations
