The Grenelle Law (Article 27 of the so-called “Grenelle 1” law of 3 August 2009) specifies that the objective of protecting the most threatened catchments by diffuse pollution is achieved when an action plan is implemented before 2012 on the Food Areas of these Captures. The AAFC (Tapping Feeding Area) is defined on hydrological or hydrogeological bases. The feeding area of a drinking water abstraction corresponds to the areas on which the water which infiltrates or flows contributes to the supply of water from which the water is taken, which is currently used for drinking water supply or is likely to be used in the future. The Agence de l’Eau Adour Garonne has been responsible for conducting studies for the delimitation of Capture Food Areas (AAFC) and mapping the vulnerability of priority “Grenelle” catchments in the basin.
