Dataset description
Polygons of areas exceeding the 24H weighted average noise exposure limit values of Charente land transport infrastructure expressed in Lden.
Weighting of the Lden indicator of the average sound level: 12 hours of the day (6:00-17:00); 4 hours evening (17:00-22h) with an increase of 5 dB; 8 hours at night (22h-6h) with an increase of 10 dB. These increases are representative of the discomfort experienced during these periods.
This zoning (CEREMA data aggregated by DDT Charente) is derived from a calculation method which gives approximate values and often higher than reality. In situ noise control can accurately determine the sound level to which a construction and its occupants can be exposed.
