Hunting and wildlife reserves shall be established by the Prefect at the request of the holder of the right to hunt.
Hunting and wildlife reserves are designed to protect migratory bird populations, protect the natural habitats necessary to safeguard endangered species, promote the development of tools to manage wildlife species and their habitats, and contribute to the sustainable development of hunting in rural areas.
However, at the request of the holder of the right to hunt, the Departmental Director of the Territories may authorise the execution in part of the hunting plans necessary to maintain biological and agro-sylvo-cynegetic balances in part of the reserve.
Regulations during the general closure of the hunting of species may be authorised by the Departmental Director of the Territories in case of damage. The Departmental Director of the Territories sets out the form that this regulation can take.
The conditions for carrying out regulations which may be authorised must be compatible with the preservation of wildlife and its tranquillity.
