Polygons of areas of competence (EPCI or commune) in non-collective sanitation on the department of Charente from 1 January 2017.
The statutes of an EPCI, regardless of its form, may confer on it sanitation powers that may include the collection of wastewater AND/OR wastewater treatment. A municipality that is a member of an EPCI may choose to:
— delegate this competence to him;
— delegate it to another public institution or body;
— retain that competence.
This creates “areas of competence” different from the administrative boundaries of the EPCI. This layer consists of the so defined “supplementation areas” existing on a department on a given date.
