Simple download service (Atom) of the dataset: Location of outbreaks and trapping of red palm weevils in Languedoc-Roussillon (July 2015)

The layer represents the location of positive traps and outbreaks for red palm weevil (Rhynchophorus ferrugineus) over the period 2013-2015 (June). The red palm weevil is currently one of the most important palm pests. In France at the end of 2012, it was listed in three regions: Corsica, Languedoc-Roussillon and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. The red weevil attacks exclusively on palm trees. In the Mediterranean regions, the two most sensitive varieties are the date palm “Phoenix dactylifera” and the Canary palm “Phoenix canariensis”. The palm dies suddenly, the first symptoms of attack appear late after the infestation.
