Perimeter of neighbourhoods subject to a National Requalification Program for Quartiers Anciens Dégradés (PNRQAD) in the Bouches-du-Rhône department. The National Programme for the Requalification of Old Degraded Quarters (PNRQAD) was created by the law of “Mobilisation for housing and the fight against exclusion” of 25 March 2009. Its objective is to rehabilitate urban and social neighbourhoods, reduce unworthy housing, improve and diversify housing supply, improve the energy performance of housing and maintain social diversity within these neighbourhoods. This programme prioritises neighbourhoods with a high concentration of unworthy habitat and a particularly difficult economic and social situation for the inhabitants. The districts covered by the PNRQAD were identified by a decree of 31 December 2009, following a call for applications.
