The circular of the Minister for Spatial Planning, Rurality and Communities, dated 23 June 2016, sets out the procedures for the implementation of rural contracts announced by the Prime Minister at the 3 rd Interministerial Committee on Rurality. As of 1 January 2019, a total of 485 rurality contracts concluded between the State via CGET and local actors have been signed.
Like city contracts, the Rurality Contract coordinates financial resources and provides for all actions and projects to be carried out in the areas of accessibility to services and care, development of attractiveness, revitalisation of central towns, mobility, ecological transition and social cohesion.
Rural contracts are concluded between the State (represented by the prefect of the department) and the presidents of the regional and rural balance pole (PETR) or of the public establishment of municipal cooperation. Within the same department, several contracts can be signed.
The Loiret department has 3 rural contracts concluded by PETRs “Beauce Gâtinais en Pithiverais”, “Forêt d’Orléans Loire Sologne” and “Pays Loire Beauce”
