Dataset description

According to the provisions of Law No 92-144 of 31 December 1992, codified in Article L.571-10 of the Environmental Code: In each department, the Prefect identifies and classifies land transport infrastructure according to its noise and traffic characteristics. On the basis of this classification, it shall determine, after consulting the municipalities, the sectors in the vicinity of these infrastructures which are affected by noise, the levels of noise to be taken into account in the construction of buildings and the technical requirements likely to reduce them. “ The sectors thus determined and the requirements relating to the acoustic characteristics applicable to them are set out in the planning documents of the municipalities concerned. In Upper Corsica, the sound classification of land transport infrastructure was initially the subject of prefectural decrees dated 22 May 2000. This classification has been revised in the Prefectural Orders of 25 April 2019. This dataset represents the areas affected by noise, classified into 5 different categories depending on the noise level of exposure. The width of each section corresponds to a distance on either side of the infrastructure indicated in the Prefectural Decree.
