Dataset description

The noise classification of land transport infrastructure is a regulatory approach taken pursuant to Article L571-10 of the Environmental Code, and the Decree of 30 May 1996, which require the prefect of each department to classify land transport infrastructure according to 5 categories (1 being the noisest and 5 least noisy). From this classification shall be deducted from the noise-affected sectors within which special building rules apply. The Prefectural Order of 1 September 2015 takes into account all intercity tracks of more than 50 trains per day and urban tracks of more than 10 trains per day. The planned commissioning of the LGV South Europe Atlantic in 2017 has been integrated from forecast traffic data provided by COSEA.
