Jurred ditch section
In the former Generalité d’Orléans existed a system designed to facilitate the drainage of the river Loire floodwater, a system made up of “jurre fossés”. Originally the custom, these ditches were regulated and classified in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The juror ditches were subject to special regulations for their maintenance and operation, which is no longer applied today. Some juror ditches fall under the status of non-federal watercourses, others do not.
