Specific sub-watershed located upstream from a remarkable point. A sub-watershed may be divided into several entities for DDT purposes.
Definition of a catchment area: feeding surface of a watercourse or body of water. The catchment area is defined as the water collection area, considered from an outlet: it is bounded by the contour within which all water flows on the surface and underground to this outlet. Its boundaries are the dividing lines of the waters.
In addition to the catchment areas defined in the BD Carthage repository on the basis of the reference river areas, procedures (e.g. control basins defined by drought protocols) or the specific needs of the services (e.g. river basins or watersheds upstream of a water intake) may lead to the creation of dedicated sub-watersheds, known as “specific watersheds” or “use watersheds” associated with particular points.
