The European Commission has adopted the French regional aid areas (RAA) map for the period 2014-2020, implemented by Decree No 2014-758 of 2 July 2014 on regional aid zones (RAAs) and investment aid zones for small and medium-sized enterprises, as amended by Decree No 2015-1391 of 30 October 2015 (adding 6 municipalities) and Decree No 2017-648 of 26 April 2017.
It replaces the 2007-13 AFR zone map which expires on 30 June 2014.
This new map delimits the areas, conditions and limits within which the State and local authorities will be able to allocate investment and job creation aid to enterprises.
It determines the investment aid ceilings which vary according to the fragility of the territories, in accordance with European rules:
10 % of the cost of productive investments for large companies in metropolitan France;
45-70 % of the cost of productive investment for large enterprises in the overseas departments;
— rate subsidies of 10 % for medium-sized enterprises and 20 % for small enterprises are provided for in each of these areas.
AFR areas are eligible until 31/12/2021 (see Decree No 2020-1790 of 30 December 2020 amending Decree No 2014-758 of 2 July 2014 on regional aid zones and investment aid areas for small and medium-sized enterprises for the period 2014-2020).
