Urban and village frame on the Maroni

Carried out in the framework of the Maroni Urban and Village Building study, this map draws up as exhaustive an inventory as possible of the existing data, allowing it to analyse the functioning of this geographical area and finally propose solutions to public policy makers in terms of management and spatial planning. Seven themes were selected for this study: the Maroni, — demographic dynamics, — economy, — health, education, — electrification, — supply of drinking water. In a cross-cutting way, care has been taken to define the concept of urban and village reinforcement and what follows from it, namely the definition of what is a city, a village, a village and a hamlet. These definitions have been refined and adapted to the context. The choice of themes are adapted to the reality of the study ground but are also essential for the analysis of the concept of reinforcement.
