The ARBOClimat tool was developed in 2016 at the request of the Haut-de-France Region and the regional directorate of ADEME.
Its objective is to carry out prospective simulations of tree planting in the city and to assess their impact on various indicators, including climate change, through its carbon storage indicator.
ARBOClimat is primarily aimed at managers of treed heritage/green areas as well as technicians in charge of planning or the environment.
This dataset “**BDD Carbon Storage**” evaluates the amount of carbon stored within the tree. Carbon storage is calculated on the basis of a density calculation of standing wood and an assessment of the carbon stored in that volume. The result is then converted into tonne CO2 equivalent, standard unit in the climate change approaches, i.e. the t CO2 equivalent.
