These data come from AREVA’s work on the identification of waste disposal sites from the former mines of Uranium.
This data is derived from air traffic control carried out by AREVA in 2011. The areas identified correspond to places where the radiological marking is greater than the local natural background noise; this does not mean that these areas systematically contain mining waste.
The areas of interest shall be accompanied by:
— an area of interest number;
— of a type of inspection carried out in those areas (uncontrolled area: ground check not carried out due to lack of infrastructure nearby/controlled area: ground check carried out but presence of unproven sterile
— sterile area: check on the ground carried out, the presence of proven waste material;
— in the case of proven sterile, a control sheet number, available in the town hall or on the DREAL website.
