A landscape unit is a part of a homogeneous and coherent space in both physionomic, biophysical and socio-economic terms. Its different constituents, atmospheres, dynamics and modes of perception make it possible to characterise it.
A landscape unit has its own characteristics, spatial organisation and specific evolutions. L' analysis of several units allows:
— a sensitive approach carried out on the ground,
— a thematic approach that allows for the linking of homogenous elements of the surrounding landscape,
— a dynamic approach whose aim is to clarify and d' to understand the trends of the landscape.
These landscape units came from the Atlas of Landscapes realised in 2011.
