This dataset offers the perimeter of the landscape unit of the Ariège Valley. The Ariège Valley settles between the Volvestre hills to the west and the Lauragais hills to the east. It joins the Garonne in Portet-sur-Garonne to the north. Before becoming this wide Upper Garonnais valley, it is a Pyrenean river that abandons its mountain characters past the cluse of Foix.
