Atlas of the landscapes of Haute-Garonne: the Ariège Valley

This dataset offers the perimeter of the landscape unit of the Ariège Valley. The Ariège Valley settles between the Volvestre hills to the west and the Lauragais hills to the east. It joins the Garonne in Portet-sur-Garonne to the north. Before becoming this wide Upper Garonnais valley, it is a Pyrenean river that abandons its mountain characters past the cluse of Foix. * * * _**More:**_ knowledge tool offered to all, **the Atlas of Landscapes** identifies and characterises the landscapes of Haute-Garonne in their diversity, proposes a vision of the future for the quality of the territory, orients actions and gives them meaning. **24 Landscape Units have been identified** and are the subject of descriptive and forward-looking fact sheets to be discovered in full on [the Atlas of the Landscapes of Haute-Garonne website](https://paysages.haute-garonne.fr/).
