Article 7 of the law of 12 January 1816, known as the “Law of Regicides”, orders the banishment for life of deputies who voted for the death of King Louis XVI in 1793 and who supported Napoleon I during the Hundred Days.
The Ministry of Police then asked the department prefects to investigate regicide deputies and their relatives. The National Archives thus retains nearly 500 small individual records, the list of which is the subject of this dataset.
The files contain correspondence between prefectures and central administration, but also letters in favour of deputies, particularly from Boissy d’Anglas.
