Cantons 76 2022

This file, compiled from INSEE and IGN data (IGN_n_irisge_s_d76), offers the list and perimeters of the electoral cantons of the Department of Seine-Maritime in 2022. The redivision of the French cantons was defined by the law of 17 May 2013 and, for the Seine-Maritime, by the decrees of 27 February 2014 of 5 March 2020. In accordance with this law, the constituencies of the cantons allow the election of departmental assemblies, renamed departmental councils by majority, binominal and parity ballot. Indeed, this redundancy is accompanied by a voting method designed to promote parity:each new canton is represented by two departmental councillors, a man and a woman, elected in pairs.
