Characteristic reference flow rates

Mapping of characteristic reference flow rates (QMNA5: monthly dry five-year flow, and QA-rated module: interannual average flow) is the result of spatial interpolation work. The proposed values have no regulatory scopes unless they are validated on a case-by-case basis by the water police for specific records. It is based on a multi-model national methodology and reflects the state of knowledge at the end of 2012. However, it contains errors with multiple origins: imperfection of methods, biased data, complexity of local hydrologies, human-related disturbances, inconsistency in the layout of the hydrographic network and certain HYDRO sub-areas,... It is not intended to substitute for more accurate estimates made up locally, which should be referred as a priority when they exist.
